To już szósty dzień 30-dniowego Wyzwania Fantastycznego dziś odpowiadamy na pytanie: Twoja ulubiona fantastyczna gra komputerowa? I dziś bez wahania. Może nie najlepsza gra w historii, i może nie grałem w nią w ostatnich latach, ale na pewno ulubiona: Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn Spędziłem przy tej grze dużo czasu! Nie jestem pewien ile razy ją ukończyłem. W pewnym momencie zaraz po ukończeniu zaczynałem raz jeszcze, praktycznie bez przerwy. I tak w pewnym momencie przechodziłem część pierwszą z dodatkami, aby przejść część drugą z dodatkiem i jeszcze raz od początku.  I byłbym kompletnie nie lojalnym fanem, gdybym nie wspomniał o najlepszej lokalizacji w historii gier! Kto raz zagrał już na zawszę będzie słyszał Piotra Fronczewskiego jako narratora historii w Zapomnianych Krainach. Ale nie tylko każda udźwiękowiona postać była fenomenalnie odegrana i przepisana na polski język. Niektóre teksty na zawszę będą kultowe!

This is the sixth day of the 30-day Fantastic Challenge today, we answer the question: Your favourite fantastic computer game? And today without hesitation. Maybe not the best game in history, and maybe I haven't played it in recent years but favourite: Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn I spent a lot of time with this game! I'm not sure how many times I've graduated. At some point, right after graduation, I started again practically without a break. And so at some point, I went through the first part with additions to go the second part with the addition and again from the beginning. And I would be a completely loyal fan not to mention the best game location in history - Who once played polish version forever will hear Piotr Fronczewski as a narrator of history in Forgotten Realms. But not only - every voiced character was phenomenally played and transcribed into Polish. Some lyrics will always be cult!

A lot to choose from...

30-dniowe  Wyzwanie Fantastyczne nie zwalnia ani trochę! Kolejny dzień kolejne pytanie: Ulubiony serial fantastyczny? Boże jaki temat rzeka! I jaki ciężki wybór! Ale odnalazłem ten, który jest moim ulubionym.  Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Zwłaszcza późniejsze sezony, gdy serial uderza w mroczniejsze tony. To w tym serialu świat Treka jest dla mnie najciekawszy - nie tak czarno biały i naiwny, jak w niektórych produkcjach.  Serial widziałem już parę razy i pewnie wrócę do niego jeszcze nie raz.

The 30-day Fantastic Challenge doesn't slow down at all! Another day, next question: Favourite Fantastic Series? God, what a river theme! And what a difficult choice! But I found the one that is my favourite. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Especially later seasons when the series hits darker tones. It is in this series that Trek's world is the most interesting to me - not as black and white and naive as in some productions. I've seen the series a few times and I will probably come back to it more than once.

Four days in .. I'm sure you catch this idea...

Gorączka wywołana 30-dniowym Wyzwaniem Fantastycznym wciąż trwa. Dziś szybkie pytanie i szybka odpowiedź.  Twój ulubiony film fantastyczny obejrzany w ciągu ostatnich dwóch lat (nie serial)? Ostatnie dwa lata nie przyniosły mi wiele pożywki, jeśli chodzi o kino fantastyczne, ale znalazła się perełka i w tym okresie.  Blade Runner 2049 Nie ukrywam, że jako fan Blade Runnera z 1982 byłem bardzo sceptyczny idąc do kina. I choć produkcja z 2017 nie zajęła w moim sercu miejsca oryginału, to i tak zostawia konkurencje kompletnie zdruzgotaną.  Nieśpieszne tempo filmu buduje klimat i pozwala sycić oczy tym, co widzimy na ekranie, a wizualnie ten film jest ucztą dla oczu. Do tego dobrze dopasowana muzyka. Fabuła przypadła mi do gustu, a świat łowcy androidów po raz kolejny mnie kupił. Jestem pewien, że nie raz wrócę do tego filmu.

A 30-day Fantastic Challenge fever still in progress. Today a quick question and a quick answer. Your favourite fantasy film is seen in the last two years (not a series)? The last two years have not brought me much nourishment when it comes to a fantastic cinema but there was a pearl in this period. Blade Runner 2049 I must admit that as a Blade Runner fan of 1982 I was very sceptical about going to the cinema. And although the production from 2017 did not take the place of the original in my heart, it still leaves the competition completely devastated.  The slow pace of the film builds the atmosphere and allows you to fill your eyes with what we see on the screen, and visually this film is a feast for the eyes. Well-tailored music. I liked the story and the world of the android hunter once again bought me. I'm sure I will come back to this movie more than once.

Three days in the row, amazing! 

Trzeci dzień szaleństwa zwanego: 30-dniowym Wyzwaniem Fantastycznym przynosi pytanie, na które odpowiadam z czystą przyjemnością :D Ulubiona książka fantastyczna (audiobook) przeczytana (wysłuchany) w ciągu ostatnich dwóch lat? Dwa lata to spory okres czasu dla takiego mola książkowego, jak ja - miałem z czego wybierać. Dlatego samowolnie, poza ulubionym tytułem, dorzucę tutaj kilka dodatkowym książek z krótkim uzasadnieniem dla czego warto.  A więc absolutny top 1 ostatniego czasu: Frank Herbert - Opowiadania zebrane Te przepiękne, dwutomowe wydanie ilustrowane przez Wojciecha Siudmaka kupiło mnie bez reszty. Każde z tych opowiadań było świetne. Herbert udowadnia, że warto sięgnąć nie tylko po Diunę. Można powiedzieć, że nie jest to najlżejsza lektura, wszak to stara szkoła, ale warto bez dwóch zdań. Całość otwiera nader ciekawy wstęp, w którym autor wiele mówi o swoim warsztacie tworzenia. Jestem pewien, że do tego zbioru wrócę nie raz. Następne pozycje w kolejności przypadkowej :D Neil Gaiman - Drażliwe Tematy O tak. Gaimana lubię od dawna, a ten zbiór opowiadań dobrze pokazuje wszechstronność autora. Mieszanina strachu i śmiechu w lekkiej, ale nie za lekkiej, lekturze - spędziłem przy niej miło jesienne wieczory. Seria Herezja Horusa Ta epicka pod względem rozmachu (i ilości tomów) opowieść, budująca uniwersum Warhmmera 40 000, ma zarówno słabsze tomy, jak i naprawdę dobre. Zapewne nie dało się uniknąć tego przy kolaboracji tylu autorów. Pod względem literackim jest bardzo nierówna. Jednak dla osób związanych z tym uniwersum to istna kocimiętka - każda książka kończy się za szybko.  Jeśli choć raz poczułeś miętę do świata "gdzie jest tylko wojna" to sięgnij po te pozycje.  Luis Montero Manglano - Trylogia Poszukiwacze Nie często sięgam po literaturę przygodową. Jednak ta seria jest świetnym reprezentantem swojego gatunku. Wykopaliska, międzynarodowe intrygi, tajemnicza przeszłość i artefakty o rzekomych nadprzyrodzonych mocach. Tak, to wszystko tu znajdziecie. Warto po nią sięgnąć, nawet jeśli ten gatunek nie jest waszym ulubionym. Téa Obreht - Żona Tygrysa Tego pewnie nikt nie spodziewał się na tej liście - bo formalnie magiczny realizm, jaki reprezentuje ten tytuł nie jest fantastyką. Jednak fantastyka jest jednym z narzędzi tego stylu. Ale zostawmy terminologie specjalistom. Ta historia zanurzona w innej rzeczywistości, nie do końca wytłumaczalnej, jest tak dobra i tak unikalna, że bez wahania polecam tę książkę każdemu. Nie powiem nic więcej, aby nie okradać was z przyjemności odkrywania tej książki.  Joydeep Roy-Bhattacharya - Bajarz z Marakeszu I kolejna nie fantastyka, ale związana z opowiadaniem historii.  Ta książka osadzona w arabskiej kulturze zarówno pod względem miejsca akcji, jak i sposobu prowadzenia narracji, nie jest lekką lekturą, ale moim zdaniem wartą przeczytania. Sięgnąłem po nią głównie przez moje zainteresowanie opowiadaniem historii. Byłem ciekaw, czy będę wstanie wyciągnąć z tej lektury coś przydatnego przy prowadzeniu sesji RPG. Jednak już po chwili moje plany odeszły w niepamięć, gdy wsiąkłem w te wielowątkową opowieść. Momentami wręcz czułem się jakbym sam siedział na Dżama al-Fna' i przysłuchiwał bajarzowi. To tyle na dziś. Mam nadzieję, że choć trochę zachęciłem Was do sięgnięcia po, któryś z tych tytułów

The third day of madness called: A 30-day Fantastic Challenge brings a question to which I answer with pure pleasure: D Favourite fantasy book (audiobook) read (heard) in the last two years? Two years is a long time for a bookworm like me - I had a lot to choose from. Therefore, arbitrarily, apart from my favourite title, I will add here some additional books with a brief justification for what it's worth. So the absolute top 1 last time: The Collected Stories of Frank Herbert This beautiful two-volume edition illustrated by Wojciech Siudmak bought me completely. Each of these stories was great. Herbert proves that it's worth reaching not only for Duna. It can be said that this is not the lightest reading, after all, it is an old school but it is worth saying. The whole opens a very interesting introduction in which the author says a lot about his creative workshop. I am sure that I will come back to this collection more than once. Next items in random order: D Neil Gaiman - Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances Oh yes. I like Gaiman for a long time and this collection of stories well shows the versatility of this author. A mixture of fear and laughter at the same time light but not too light reading - I spent a nice autumn night with her. Horus Heresy series This epic story (and the number of volumes) that builds the Warhammer 40,000 universe has both weaker and really good volumes. Probably this could not have been avoided by collaborating with so many authors. In literary terms, it is very uneven. But for people associated with this universe is a real catnip - every book ends too quickly. If you have ever felt mint for the world "where there is only war" then reach for these items. Luis Montero Manglano - Los buscadores I don't often reach for adventure literature. However, this series is a great representative of its genre. Excavations, international intrigues, a mysterious past and artefacts about supposed supernatural powers. Yes, you will find it all here. It is worth reaching for it even if this genre is not your favourite. Téa Obreht - Tiger's Wife This probably nobody expected on this list - because formally the magical realism that this title represents is not fantastic. However, fantasy is one of the tools of this style. But let's leave the terminology to specialists. This story immersed in a different reality, not entirely explainable, is so good and so unique that I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone. I will not say anything more to not rob you of the pleasure of discovering this book. Joydeep Roy-Bhattacharya - The Storyteller of Marrakesh And another not fantasy but related to storytelling. This book embedded in Arabic culture, both in terms of the place of action and the way the narrative is conducted, is not light reading but in my opinion worth reading. I reached for it mainly because of my interest in telling stories. I was wondering if I would be able to draw something useful from this reading while running an RPG session. However, after a while, my plans went into oblivion when I got into this multi-threaded story. At times I felt like I was sitting on Jama al-Fna 'and listening to the storyteller. That's it for today. I hope that I encouraged you at least some of these titles

Wygląda na to, że jeśli powiedziało się A to trzeba też powiedzieć B. Tak więc, dziś drugi dzień zwariowanej inicjatywy zwanej:  30-dniowym Wyzwaniem Fantastycznym A pytanie na jakie dziś będę odpowiadał to:  Fantasy czy sci-fi, czyli ulubiona dziedzina fantastyki? Myślałem, że odpowiedź na te pytanie będzie trudniejsza, ale okazało się, że nie. Okazuje się, że mimo mojej ogromnej miłości do mieczy, zaklęć, sędziwych krasnoludów i krewkich orków, niezliczonych godzin spędzonych na sesjach Dungeons & Dragons, na przekór przygodzie z Mordheim'em, a potem Warheimem, to moje serce zawsze żywiej będzie bić dla Sci-fiction. Nie zmienią tego chwilowe romanse ze steampunkiem czy dieselpunk, to kosmos jest moim głównym konikiem.  Ogromne stalowe fregaty, statki handlowe czy floty wojenne przemierzające pustkę kosmosu - to jest to, co od razu przykuwa moją uwagę.  Dlaczego tak jest?  Chyba dlatego że s-f próbuje zgadywać, co będzie dalej, co może się wydarzyć, jaki jest następny krok naszej cywilizacji? Chyba każdy fan tej dziedziny leżał kiedyś na trawie, wpatrując się w gwiazdy i zastawiając się: czy jesteśmy we wszechświecie sami? Wyobrażając sobie inne odległe światy.  Z drugiej strony s-f nie raz funduje nam wycieczkę wewnątrz. Bo co sprawia, że jesteśmy ludźmi? Jak technologia zmienia nas? Na ile jesteśmy użytkownikami technologii, a na ile jej niewolnikami? Często w historiach o robotach, sztucznej inteligencji bardziej chodzi o pytania czym jest życie, czym my jesteśmy.  I obojętnie, czy to space opera (o boże lubię takie), czy post-apokaliptyczne wizje to wszystkie one dają mi jakieś poczucie, że coś będzie dalej. Że niezależnie od tego jak mroczna i depresyjna jest przyszłość, to jest dla nas jakaś przyszłość. No cóż chyba uderzyłem w poważne tony, więc może zostawmy to tak jest jest.  Qapla'!

It seems that if you said A then you also have to say B. So today is the second day of the crazy initiative called A 30-day Fantastic Challenge And the question I will answer today is: Fantasy or sci-fi, or favourite field of fantasy? I thought that the answer to this question would be more difficult but it turned out not. It turns out that despite my great love for swords, spells, ancient dwarves and relatives of orcs, countless hours spent on the Dungeons & Dragons session, in spite of the adventure with Mordheim and then Warheim, my heart will always be more lively for Science-fiction. Momentary love affairs with steampunk or dieselpunk won't change it, space is my main horse. Huge steel frigates, merchant ships and war fleets traversing the emptiness of space - this is what immediately catches my attention. Why is it like that? Probably because s-f is trying to guess what will happen next, what can happen, what is the next step in our civilization? Probably every fan of s-f once laid on the grass staring at the stars, wondering if we are alone in the universe? Imagining other distant worlds. On the other hand, s-f often fundus with a trip inside. Because what makes us human? How technology changes us? To what extent are we users of technology and to what extent are its slaves? Quite often in the stories of robots, artificial intelligence is more about questions about what life is, what we are. And whether it's space opera (oh god I like it) or post-apocalyptic visions, they all give me a sense that something will come next. That the future is dark and depressed, it is a future for us. Well, I think I hit serious tones, so maybe let's leave it the way it is. Qapla'!

First day in the row….

Wrzesień w tym roku będzie szczególnym miesiącem, a to dzięki inicjatywie jaką na ten miesiąc zaproponowali QC oraz Maniex, a ja wbrew rozsądkowi postanowiłem do tego dołączyć. W tym miesiącu blog będzie podporządkowany: 30-dniowemu Wyzwaniu Fantastycznemu Ale co to, jak to i dlaczego? W telegraficznym skrócie, co dzień będę odpowiadał (i nie tylko ja, ale mam nadziej że wielu współblogerów) na jedno pytanie związane z szeroko pojętą fantastyką. Więcej i dokładniej możecie o inicjatywie poczytać tutaj. A my śpieszymy do pierwszego pytania: Dzień 1: Kiedy zainteresowałeś się fantastyką, twoje początki? To wyjątkowo proste pytanie, zadane na rozgrzewkę przed wieloma innymi, niespodziewanie wymaga dość skomplikowanej odpowiedzi.  Tak naprawdę zainteresowanie fantastyką i fantastką naukowa jest ze mną od zawsze, odkąd pamiętam. Wygląda na to, że jestem nerdem od zawsze :D Chłopak w okularach, wiecznie z głową w książkach i grach. Już jako dzieciak, ledwie spełniający wymóg wiekowy do zabawy klockami Lego, prosiłem o te związane z kosmosem (klocki Lego to osobny, szeroki temat i na razie go zostawmy). Jednym z moich najwcześniejszych wspomnień związanych z fantastyką była lektura Dwudziestu tysięcy mil podmorskiej żeglugi Juliusza Verne. Pamiętam, że przeczytałem ją bardzo wcześnie, jeśli pamięć mnie nie myli, w okolicach 3-4 klasy podstawówki. Wtedy dosłownie pożerałem książki.  Mój dom rodzinny też nie był pozbawiony fantastyki - na półce znalazłem książkę, do której mam wciąż olbrzymi sentyment Pomnik pióra Lloyd Biggle Jr. (wciąż gdzieś ją mam, poplamioną kawą, sklejoną taśmą, stojącą na półce pośród innych tytułów). Potem to była reakcja łańcuchowa: Andre Norton, Lem, Tolkien, Herbert, Strugaccy i wielu innych.  Ale nie samymi książkami fantastyka stoi. Ilustracja też miała swój udział w obudzeniu mojej wyobraźni i wciągnięciu mnie doszczętnie w szpony fantastyki. Stara koszulka metalowej kapeli z przepiekaną ilustracją doprowadziła mnie do Lusia Royo, a to otwarło mi cały nowy zakątek fantastyki.  Gdzieś w między czasie pojawiły się pierwsze gry RPG - podręczniki kupione do spółki z kolegami z osiedla. Zanim skończyłem podstawówkę byłem już w 100% fanem (fanatykiem może) fantastyki.  Cóż to już długi wywód na temat tego, kiedy zaczęła się ta przygoda. Wygląda na to, że dla mnie odpowiedź brzmi - od zawsze.

September this year will be a special month thanks to the initiative QC and Maniex have proposed for this month, and I decided to join this against all reason. This month, the blog will be subordinated to: 30-day Fantastic Challenge But what is this and why? In brief, every day I will answer (and not only me but I hope from many co-bloggers) to one question related to fantasy in the broad sense. You can read more about the initiative here. And we hurry to the first question: Day 1: When did you get interested in fantasy, your beginnings? This is an extremely simple question, asked to warm up before many others unexpectedly require a rather complicated answer. Interest in fantasy and science fiction has always been with me since I can remember. It seems like I've always been a nerd :D A kid with glasses forever with his head in books and games. As a kid barely meeting the age requirement to play with Lego blocks, I asked for space-related ones (Lego blocks are a separate, broad topic and let's leave it for now). One of my earliest memories related to fantasy was reading Twenty thousand miles of Julius Verne's undersea navigation, I remember reading it very early if my memory is correct, around 3-4 years of primary school. Then I devoured books. My family home was not devoid of fantasy either - on the shelf I found a book for which I still have a great fondness Monument to the pen by Lloyd Biggle Jr. (I still have it somewhere, stained with coffee, stuck with tape standing on a shelf among other titles). Then it was a chain reaction: Andre Norton, Lem, Tolkien, Herbert, Strugaccy and many others. But fantasy is not the only books. The illustration also contributed to the awakening of my imagination and drawing me completely into the clutches of fantasy. An old t-shirt of a metal band with a scorched illustration led me to Lusia Royo and this opened up a whole new corner of fantasy. Somewhere in the meantime, the first RPG games in my life appeared - textbooks bought to a company with colleagues from the estate. By the time I finished primary school I was already a 100% fantasy fan. Well, this is a long argument about when this adventure began, it seems to me that the answer is - always.

Iron Hands Scout Squad with Sniper Rifles

One shot, One kill….

Modele, jakie dziś zobaczycie, czekały długo na swoją chwilę na łamach bloga. Ale powszechnie wiadomo, że cierpliwość jest bardzo ważna dla snajperów. Tak więc przed Wami: Space Marine Scouts with Sniper Rifles To kolejne jedostki, które udało mi się zakupić z drugiej ręki w dość kiepskim stanie. Na szczęście farbę udało się ściągnąć dość dokładnie, a uszkodzenia modeli nie były zbyt duże.  Jak zwykle pokusiłem się o skonwertowanie modeli. Wszyscy zwiadowcy, poza sierżantem, otrzymali głowy Skitarii. Uznałem, że idealnie się wpisują w klimat mojej armii. Delikatnie podrasowalem karabin dowądzącego oddziałem. Dodałem również brakujące płaszcze z greenstuffu.  Schemat malowania jest identyczny, jak w przypadku pierwszego odziału scoutów. Oczywiście tym razem pojawiły się płaszcze maskujące - moje pierwsze modele oficjalnie malowane aerografem. Cóż pierwsze koty za płoty :D Szczególną frajdę tym razem sprawiło mi malowanie soczewek, jestem z nich całkiem zadowolony. Dajcie znać w komenatarzach, co sądzicie.

Models wich you see today wait some time for their debut on the blog. But there is common knowledge that patience is snipers virtue. So they finally here: Space Marine Scouts with Sniper Rifles These are the next models which I bought from the second hand in bad shape. Fortunately, paint striping goes well and damage on models was easy to fix.  As usual, I made some conversions :) I swap all heads except sergeant into Skittarii hooded heads - I think they fit very well Iron Hands theme. Also, added small upgrades on leaders gun and of course missing camo cloak from green stuff.  I used the same colours scheme as I used on my previous scouts' squad. Of course, I added some camouflage on cloaks - this is my firsts element painted by airbrush.  Especially pleasure was to paint lenses - I'm quite happy about how they look.
