A few days ago, The Dark Oak blog reached the age of four. Time to summarize this unfortunate 2020 in the contact of my blogging.
The counter of visits on the blog broke 53 thousand views. This is 12 thousand. guests in 2020 - slightly less than in the previous one.
28 entries were published on the blog - much less than in 2019. However, it must be remembered that in 2020 there was no 30-day blog challenge.
During the blog's last birthday, I set a few goals for myself. It's time for me to hold them accountable.
- I was planning to conduct a narrative Warhammer 40k campaign for my friends - I would like to kindly inform you here that although the plague that plagues our planet almost thwarted our ranks, I managed to conduct one whole round of games and start the next chapter - On my YouTube channel you can follow the narrative that I am building. The next campaign video will be out any day.
- My resolve to write more about board games has only resulted in having more of these games at home and playing them more - I haven't written anything about it.
- Complete one site-related project for the home table - I completed two such projects, but only one landed on the blog, where you can find the other - more on that in a moment.
- Try your hand at video blogging - it happens. Very reluctantly and with a little professionalism :) on your tube, you can find even one battle report and one MUCH TOO LONG film about painting. I do not hide that I want to create more battle reports, it is difficult at the moment, but there are chances that by the end of 2021 I will have a dedicated space at my disposal. Until then, the quality of it may vary :)
And now maybe some comment from my side.
2020 was difficult on many levels. He strongly tested my enthusiasm for blogging and it must be admitted that it practically exhausted it.
There are many models that I have painted in the last year or more that I have never shared on the blog. In fact, the main motivators to keep publishing in this format are blogger initiatives such as the Figurine Blog Carnival. Much more attracted by the formula of Instagram - blog. Maybe it is a sign of the times - faster, easier, more mobile. Or maybe my laziness. Anyway, I encourage you to follow me on Instagram. But from this place, I do not disappear :)
One of my new resolutions for 2021 is publishing Instagram entries also on the blog - so that those who are used to this format do not have to learn new tricks :)
When we are already on the resolutions for 2021 - I want to finish the projects lying in the drawer - at the beginning of each month, a vote will be held on my Instagram profile. The project with more votes will be completed this month. In January, thanks to this, I was able to finish my attack bike, photos of which can be found below.
At this point I would like to thank everyone who visits The Dark Oak - I am very happy with every visit to the blog, and your comments motivate me to continue sharing my relationship with the fight against the hobby :D
